Woolwell in Bloom was started in 2018 after our founder, Soraya Lewis-Coleman saw an advert on the TV about Britain in Bloom.

The BBC ran a 3 week series, with the penultimate programme showing an estate a bit like Woolwell.

It showed how a community had built some gardens for everyone to enjoy and be a part of. This inspired Soraya to start our Bloom group, and the rest, as they say, is history.

We entered Britain in Bloom for the first time in 2021 in the 'its your neighbour' category, gaining the top level of Outstanding.

Since then we have entered each year into the higher 'Pennant' category, gaining a Silver Guilt each year!

We are hoping that this years entry, in 2024, will gain us the Gold level.
